EARLY MUSIC IMMERSION PROGRAM AT GES

The Early Music Immersion Program at Global ESchool fosters holistic development in preschoolers through music appreciation, fundamental music theory, and instrumental familiarity. Utilizing an experiential learning approach, the program cultivates children's self-confidence, creativity, and compassionate spirit from their earliest years.

At GES, we believe every child possesses an innate capacity for musical appreciation. Music is more than just cheerful melodies; it is a language of emotion that aids in intellectual development, nurtures the soul, and ignites self-confidence from the very beginning.

The Early Music Immersion Program is designed to establish a solid musical foundation for preschool students, facilitating the development of the right brain—the center for creativity, emotion, and imagination. This, in turn, nurtures the child's self-assurance, courage, and expressive abilities.

Program Philosophy
At GES, music is not merely a subject; it is a journey of nurturing emotions and the soul. We envision every music session as a joyful experience where children are encouraged to listen, move, sing, play, and create. Through music, children learn to feel, share, cooperate, and express emotions—core competencies that build confidence and communication skills for the future.

Developmental Pathway by Age Group

• Infants/Toddlers (2–3 years old): Introduction to sounds, rhythm, and gross motor movement synced with music. Children are inspired to perceive sound through listening, singing, and natural movement.
• Nursery (3–4 years old): Introduction to basic music theory using vivid visuals, recognizing high/low and fast/slow dynamics, and familiarizing themselves with simple percussion instruments (small drums, bells, shakers). Fun activities help children internalize fundamental rhythms and beats.
• Pre-K (4–5 years old): Continues music theory and begins playing a suitable instrument (such as the violin, keyboard/organ, ukulele, or drums) to develop hand-eye coordination, auditory perception, and musical aesthetics.
• Kindergarten (5–6 years old): Group instrumental play, focusing on listening skills, collaboration, and performance. This stage develops teamwork and self-assurance on stage. Children begin expressing personal emotion and style in their performances.

Primary Level 
Building upon the early childhood foundation, the Primary program is expanded across three main pillars: Performance – Presentation – Creation.

• Grade 1–2: Consolidating basic music theory, practicing sight-reading, rhythm, and simple melodies. Deeper familiarization with the core instrument (piano, ukulele, violin, or drums). Students begin solo or duet performances of short pieces.
• Grade 3–4: Developing group performance and ensemble skills. Students learn to express musical nuances, tempo, dynamics, and emotion within each composition. Concurrently, students are encouraged to create short melodies or arrange songs in their own style, fostering individual musical thinking.
• Grade 5: Participation in the Music Performance & Creation Project, where students select pieces, rehearse, arrange, and perform on stage at school events. This phase hones presentation skills, teamwork, creativity, and the confidence to express oneself publicly.

The goal of the Primary stage is to enable children to utilize music as a means of expression, creativity, and connection—not just playing music, but also understanding and "creating with music."

Teaching methodology – Experiential learning
GES adopts the "Play-based learning" approach, integrating the best elements of international music methodologies such as Orff Schulwerk and Dalcroze Eurhythmics. Our International Music Teachers at GES act as inspirational mentors, guiding and awakening the children's joy in learning, singing, and self-expression.
